If the fire gets out of control, leave the house and call the fire department. There are many procedures a person can do to prevent fires in a home. For example, cleaning the lint from the dryer after each use. If a person fails to do that task, the dryer can stop working properly and could overheat and could end up being a huge fire hazard.
- Another thing to avoid is overloading electrical power strips, this process can overload a circuit and potentially cause a fire. In addition misusing a power strip could be dangerous. For example, plugging too many plugs into a power strip can lead to failure of appliances because it is overloaded. The kitchen is where most fires start because they usually have the most flammable objects in the house including liquid disinfectant sprays and drain cleaners. Not only products you use to clean are highly flammable, but foods can be too. Any cooking oils you may use could be flammable. Oranges contains a flammable chemical, Limonene. Flour, non-dairy creamer, and powdered sugar consist of fine particles that burn if added to a hot pan, never place these in a pan without anything else in it. In addition to the kitchen, bathrooms also have fire hazards such as aerosol sprays, hairspray, body sprays, sunscreen, bug repellent, and bathroom cleaners. Common rubbing alcohol, hand sanitize-rs, and certain liquid medications that contain alcohol, are also flammable and can be a fire hazard as well so make sure that you keep them away from fire
